Privacy policy

Last updated: September 12, 2026

PlateWatch is an independent compliance monitoring tool for US electroplating and metal-finishing facilities. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to getplatewatch.com and the app at platewatch.io.

What we collect

The compliance records shown in PlateWatch come from EPA ECHO, a public government database. That information is already public and is not personal information about you.

How we use it

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We share limited data only with service providers that help us run PlateWatch, such as our email delivery, hosting, analytics, and payment providers, and only so they can perform that work. We may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies and analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the site. Clarity captures how pages are used, through things like clicks, scrolls, and mouse movement, and shows it back to us as heatmaps and session recordings, so we can find what is confusing or broken and fix it. To do this, Clarity sets cookies on your device, and Microsoft processes this usage and device data as our service provider, under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Clarity masks the text you type by default. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run ads, and we do not sell or share your personal information.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, consistent with Texas law. We do not sell or share your personal information.

Your choices and rights

Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. Residents of other states may have similar rights under their own laws.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal and accounting needs. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data except where we are required to keep it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Children

PlateWatch is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let account holders know by email.
